Curato Stays

Cancellation Policy

Each home on Curato Stays follows one of three cancellation policies, set by the host. The specific policy for a home — and your exact refund amount — is shown before you confirm a reservation, and again if you choose to cancel.

Flexible, Moderate, or Firm.

Every home uses one of these three tiers. The service fee is never refunded, regardless of which tier applies or when you cancel.

At a glance

The closer a cancellation is to arrival, the more limited the refund.

Refunds are calculated automatically based on the home's policy and how far in advance you cancel — no need to contact us for a standard cancellation.

Summary

These are the three cancellation policies hosts can choose from.

Flexible

Full refund up to 24 hours before check-in. Non-refundable inside 24 hours.

Moderate

Full refund 5 or more days before check-in. 50% refund 1–4 days before. Non-refundable on or after check-in.

Firm

Full refund 30 or more days before check-in. 50% refund 7–29 days before. Non-refundable inside 7 days.

Service fee

The service fee is never refunded, under any policy tier or cancellation timing.

How to cancel

Cancel any upcoming reservation directly from your guest dashboard.

Self-service cancellation

  • Sign in and open your reservation from your guest dashboard to cancel.
  • Your exact refund amount and percentage are shown before you confirm the cancellation.
  • If a refund is owed, it's issued automatically to your original payment method — no need to wait for approval.
  • Reservations can't be cancelled online on or after the check-in date. Please contact us directly if something comes up during your stay.

Special cases

Some situations follow different rules than the standard policy tiers.

Host cancellations

If a host cancels a confirmed reservation before check-in, the guest receives a full refund of all amounts paid, including the service fee. We may assist with finding alternative accommodations, but replacement lodging is not guaranteed.

Exceptional circumstances

Refunds outside a home's standard policy may be considered for verified events such as serious illness, natural disasters, or government travel restrictions. Supporting documentation may be required, and exceptions are reviewed case by case.

Additional terms

A few important details help set expectations clearly.

No-shows

No refunds are issued for no-shows, early departures, or unused nights.

Reservation changes

Changing your dates after booking may affect pricing and is treated as a new reservation for cancellation purposes.

Refund timing

Refunds are issued immediately upon cancellation. Your bank or card issuer may take several business days to reflect the refund in your account.

Agreement clause

Booking with Curato Stays means agreeing to these terms.

Guest acknowledges and agrees that the reservation is subject to the cancellation policy disclosed for the specific home at the time of booking — Flexible, Moderate, or Firm. Refund percentages and windows vary by policy tier, and the service fee is non-refundable under any tier. No refunds shall be issued for no-shows, early departures, or unused nights. Cancellations made on or after the check-in date must be handled directly with Curato Stays and are not eligible for self-service cancellation or automatic refund.
